In the Spring of 2009, we went to the southwest corner of the Caribbean to sail with some friends for a couple weeks. On our snorkeling/underwater photography adventures I would discover up to a dozen of these seastars munching in the eel grass. This star fish species has a wide range of warm hues and a variety of patterns and can be found throughout the Caribbean. My "Columbian Seastar" oil painting of a Cushion Starfish shows the most common color, plus I love it's "setting" in the gold-colored soft coral.
